The Sharon Land Trust’s Student Work Program offers Sharon’s youth an opportunity to work in the community on habitat and wildlife enhancement projects as well as trail building and maintenance. The Program runs for 2 weeks in the summer, and is open to students entering grades 9 to 12 (14 to 17 years old).
Each day’s work is typically 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. with drop off no earlier than 8:45am and pick up promptly at 2pm.
Students work in several preserves during the program. Take a look at this year’s program details below for more information.
Work will be outdoors, in the forests and fields on SLT properties. You must wear sturdy shoes with socks and long pants. We recommend a long-sleeved shirt and a hat. Bring work gloves, if you have them. Be prepared for the weather! Students will need to bring bug spray, sunscreen, water, snacks, and a bagged lunch to work each day.
Students are paid at the conclusion of the project as an educational reward. Take a look at this years program details below for more information.
