The Sharon Land Trust was joined by State Representative Roberta Willis (D-64) in honoring Larry Power, who stepped down after 17 very successful years as head of the Land Trust.
Roberta Willis presented Larry with a citation from the state which reads, “Your leadership has transformed the development of an organization that is essential to the preservation of the town’s rural heritage and character.
“Your dedication, hard work and commitment have helped preserve natural resources of special scenic, natural, recreational, historic, or agricultural value to the Town of Sharon and that state. You have left an indelible mark on the landscape of Sharon. A grateful community thanks you!”
The new president, Kathleen Fuhr, presented Larry with a panoramic photograph from the Mary Moore Preserve by Jonathan Doster. She also pointed out that during his tenure, Larry preserved over 3,000 acres in Sharon which is about one acre for every resident in town.
Thank you Larry for the countless hours that you dedicated to Sharon Land Trust!
