Sharon Land Trust volunteer work days are a great way to give back, and enjoy a fun morning of good work for any ability with great people. Can you help? Interested volunteers will need to prepare for work by dressing weather appropriately, wearing work pants and solid boots, and bringing gloves if they have them. The land trust will provide gloves if they don’t. No experience is required for this work, and the land trust will give a tailgate safety talk beforehand and training in the field. Please register as a volunteer if you haven’t already. Take a look at our trailwork resources page for more information. We’ll break for a nice lunch at a beautiful spot at the end of each work morning for anyone interested. Email timhunter@sharonlandtrust.org to sign up.

Great Backyard Bird Count With the Sharon Audubon Center!

Join Sharon Audubon Naturalist, Bethany Sheffer, and Sharon Land Trust Stewardship Assistant, Sophie Lake-Ginouves, for a scenic winter hike and bird count on our striking Hamlin Preserve. Each year, the Great Backyard Bird Count invites people of all ages to watch, count, and submit their data during mid-February on the birds they see and hear in their backyards. This data helps scientists better understand bird populations across the globe and inform conservation efforts. If you enjoy winter hiking and watching birds, then don’t miss this opportunity to join us!
This event is free and is suitable for ages 10+
Online pre-registration is required. Register here: https://act.audubon.org/a/great-backyard-bird-count-sharon-land-trust-2142026
