DESCRIPTION:Spring cleaning has begun! Join our Stewardship Director\, Tim Hunter\, and Land Steward\, Sophie Lake-Ginouves\, on our beautiful Sharon Mountain Preserve for a fun morning of trail maintenance. Volunteers can help with a number of projects including pruning overgrowth\, cleaning drainage ditches\, and\, if you are comfortable and experienced\, chainsawing fallen trees. Michael Nadeau will discuss how to choose what native species to plant\, where they are most effective\, and how to source them responsibly. The session will also explore the growing use of “nativars\,” including their advantages and drawbacks. Participants will leave with practical guidance for creating healthier\, more resilient landscapes that support wildlife while still meeting aesthetic and functional goals. \nFree and open to all.
